Texas Independent Candidate for Governor Jenn Mack Calls for Three Days of Prayer and Fasting Over Texas
For immediate distribution · October 20, 2026

SPRING, TX — Jenn Mack, independent write-in candidate for Governor of Texas, is calling on all Texans to join in three days of prayer and fasting, October 21–23, with prayer at 6:00 a.m. each morning.
“Texans disagree about plenty, but there's an intense battle for Texas; and for three mornings, I'm asking us to lay those differences down, humble ourselves, and call on the name of the Lord together, for our families, our state, and our future,” said Mack.
Calling for prayer is an old American tradition. In 1775, the Continental Congress proclaimed a day of public fasting and prayer. The Declaration of Independence itself appeals to the Creator and to “the protection of divine Providence.” The First Amendment protects every American's right to worship freely, or not at all. This call is an invitation to call upon the same Creator.
“Our freedoms come from God, not government. This is a free people choosing to humble ourselves, and I'd like to see all of Texas do it side by side,” Mack said.
How to join:
- Pray at 6:00 a.m. each morning, October 21, 22 and 23, at home, in church, or with neighbors.
- Fast in whatever way your health and conscience allow.
- Share the call with your family, congregation and community.
